I am fairly certain this is not pork flavored cotton candy, although I cannot personally verify that. This picture was taken at a park here is Qingdao.

Stew,
rest assured, I’m pretty sure it is not pork-flavored!
Unless I am wrong, that cotton candy is just regular cotton candy. The bag says, 「花糖」”hua1 tang2″ which means “flower candy.” In Japan, they also have 「金華糖」”kinkato” (“gold flower candy”) which is a kind of melted sugar treat used in festivals for good fortune. The Japanese version has one extra character, 「金」or “gold,” and the second one, 「華」is the traditional version of the simplified character「花」on the bag. I’m pretty sure that it is very similar, if not identical, to the Chinese version. I can check on this more later, when I have some more time…
I think the pig is probably in reference to this being the year of the boar…
I think I might like pork flavored cotton candy. Regular cotton candy is always so sweet. I don’t like pork rinds though (basically because the concept is so disgusting), so maybe pork is a bad idea for cotton candy. Who knows.
